Pascagoula, Mississippi, boasts a history spanning over 300 years, initially inhabited by the Pascagoula tribe and later by French, English, and Spanish settlers. The city is known for its "Singing River" legend, its maritime history, and its role as a shipbuilding and industrial center. It was also the site of a notable alleged UFO incident in 1973, known as the "Pascagoula Abduction.
